Rapid Reactions: Barbra Banda, galactic conquerer

ReperPridevsRacing-88

1. Barbra Banda. That's it. Again.

2. Three games started, three games with a goal. Banda continues to take the NWSL by storm, recording her sixth goal contribution with the Pride. That's four goals and two assists for the Zambian international in just under 300 minutes played.

3. Emily Sams also deserves praise on Banda's goal, doing some good work down the sideline to get space and time to put a perfect cross to the far post.

4. After coming in as a sub for seven games this season, rookie Ally Lemos got the starting nod in midfield, playing 87 minutes. The 20-year-old held her own against a very potent Louisville team, helping control the pace of the midfield and finishing with the third-highest passing accuracy among starters. It was a well-deserved start for the young midfielder, who's worked her way into more minutes with her positive play in the second half of games.

5. Anna Moorhouse recorded another shutout tonight, her third this season and 10th in her Orlando career. With three saves on the night, she also registered her 100th regular-season save with the Pride. It's been a strong start to the season for the keeper, only allowing less than a goal per game, and she will look to continue that fine form through the season.

6. Tonight also marked the return of Adriana and Morgan Gautrat, who missed the last few matches due to injuries. As the season rolls on, it's important to keep as much depth as possible, especially with five matches in the month of May to come, tied for the most matches in a month this season.

7. With the win, the Pride vault themselves into first place in the NWSL standings, one point ahead of the Kansas City Current. This is the first time the Pride have been in the top spot in the league since July 4, 2021. Orlando also becomes just the fourth team in NWSL history to go unbeaten in their first eight matches of a season. The last team to do it: the eventual champions North Carolina Courage in 2018.

8. After their three games in 10 days, the Pride now get a week to prepare as they host expansion side Bay FC in a week's time. Kickoff for the Saturday, May 11, match is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Also, the match will be the Pups with Pride match, which you can learn more about here.
