Orlando City Players Get Up-Close Look at New Downtown Stadium

On Thursday, Orlando City players toured the teamā€™s new stadium for the first time. The stadium, which is set to open in 2017, marks a huge landmark for the organization and the players are excited about reaching this milestone.

ā€œI think itā€™s a very nice stadium. We walked through it a bit,ā€ Cyle Larin said after the tour. ā€œI think itā€™s going to be a very good stadium to play in next year. I think itā€™s going to be a hard stadium to play in, but good for us.ā€

ā€œIt looks awesome. Obviously itā€™s not finished yet, but I canā€™t wait to see what the finished product looks like,ā€ Tony Rocha said. ā€œExtremely excited to play here.ā€

Orlando City players want to make the new stadium a home for them and their fans. Their hope is that the new stadium will intimidate traveling teams, and give Orlando City even more dominance at home.

ā€œWeā€™re gonna have the same support we had at Camping World Stadium, but the atmosphere is gonna be a lot better cause theyā€™re gonna be closer to the field,ā€ Rocha said. ā€œI think itā€™s gonna be a fortress for us next year.ā€

ā€œI think itā€™s a big thing for the fans, and for the players,ā€ Larin said. ā€œHopefully we can do something special in this new stadium.ā€
