It's no secret, City is #ComingHome March 5th versus New York City FC. To commemorate the occasion and City's history, the club will be commissioning Central Florida artist Derek Gores to work on a special project. The project, a massive collage, will be permanently hung in the new downtown stadium, but will also be blown up as a banner that will be held by season ticket members selected via LionNation at the March 5th home opener.
"All my art is about the play between micro and macro, near and far, small moments adding up to the big moments," said Gores of his work. "In this commission for Orlando City, I'm using thousands of fan photos, game tickets, player stats, press clippings... anything and everything it takes to add up to the single image in the final work of art. The Beautiful Game is my sport, City is my team, and I relish the challenge of capturing all that passion for you. Jump in and see if your picture shows up in the final artwork!"
There are two ways fans can submit photos and memorabilia to the project:
- Send an image via social media using "#ComingHome"
- Bring their item in person to the Fan Forum on 2/17 at Wall Street.
- Fans can submit their favorite photos, ticket stubs, or other memorabilia to be a part of this collage.
