ORLANDO, Fla. (February 27, 2017) – Today, Orlando City SC launches the free LionNation mobile app for all members and non-members of the Club’s membership program. All fans must download the mobile app as the Club transitions to paperless ticketing for the 2017 season. The app can be downloaded in the Apple Store or Google Play Store.
“This is an important move for us and our fans,” Club Chief Information Officer Renato Reis said. “We are fortunate to have a very tech-savvy fan base in soccer, and we looked at our customer feedback as well as their behaviors at games to further improve their experience at our games and events.”
All events held at Orlando City Stadium will utilize the new and safe paperless ticketing process, eliminating the need to print tickets and avoid ticketing fraud. Tickets will be presented at the gates on the LionNation mobile app or via Ticketmaster’s Account Manager site. LionNation members, who are season-ticket holders, can use and scan their membership cards to enter the stadium on game day. All single-game ticket holders must use an electronic ticket through the app.
After downloading the free LionNation mobile app, everyone must sign up for an account. LionNation members must use their existing membership email address and select a username and password to complete the registration form.
Non-LionNation members can download the app and register for the app to manage gameday tickets. Non-members can always upgrade to the full LionNation membership program at any point throughout the year.
“The mobile app is designed for all fans of the Club, not just those who purchased LionNation memberships,” added Teresa Tatlonghari, the Club’s vice president of marketing. “It will be the preferred method for all fans to access electronic tickets on gameday. There will be two different interfaces allowing our members to access their enhanced accounts, while allowing non-members the opportunity to purchase tickets and manage them through the app directly.”
Paperless ticketing through the LionNation app or Account Manager is the safest and most convenient way for fans to receive and manage tickets. All tickets purchased through OrlandoCitySC.com, ticketmaster.com or by calling Club ticket representatives, can be presented, transferred or resold through the LionNation mobile app. This includes tickets purchased and sold through Ticket Exchange, the only Club-verified resale outlet.
Ticketmaster representatives will be available at the Box Office on gameday for fans who encounter technological issues or who do not have access to a smartphone.
Tickets will become available for download 72 hours prior to games. On March 5th, tickets will be available 80 hours prior to kickoff.
The upgraded LionNation.com website will launch in early March, featuring new content and benefits for members.
