NEW YORK (April 21, 2016) – The MLS Disciplinary Committee has suspended Orlando City FC midfielder Antonio Nocerino for one game and issued an undisclosed fine for violation of the League’s entering the field of play policy in the 90+ minute of Orlando’s match against New England Revolution on April 17. Nocerino will serve the suspension during Orlando’s next MLS match on Sunday, April 24 against the New York Red Bulls.
In addition, the MLS Disciplinary Committee has issued a one-game suspension and undisclosed fine to D.C. United coach Ben Olsen who violated the League’s entering the field of play policy in the 80th minute of D.C.’s match against Toronto FC on April 16. Olsen will serve the suspension during D.C. United’s next MLS match on Saturday, April 23 against New England Revolution.
In the 95+ minute of the match between the Portland Timbers and San Jose Earthquakes, Diego Valeri failed to leave the field in an orderly manner and will receive an undisclosed fine. San Jose Earthquakes defender Andres Imperiale will also be issued an undisclosed fine for his involvement in escalating incident (VIDEO).
Midfielder Marco Pappa has been fined an undisclosed amount for violating League policy regarding hands to the head of an opponent when making contact in the 36th minute of the Colorado Rapids match against the New York Red Bulls on April 16.
The Independent Review Panel has rescinded the fine and one-game suspension for the red card issued to Columbus Crew SC defender Tyson Wahl for denying a goal scoring opportunity in the 86th minute of their match against New York City FC on April 16.
The Crew’s appeal for review of the play was unanimously upheld by the Independent Review Panel, which consists of one representative from the U.S. Soccer Federation, Canadian Soccer Association and Professional Referees Organization (PRO).
As a result, Wahl will be eligible to play in Crew SC’s next match against the Houston Dynamo on Saturday, April 23.
