Orlando City is back in training after their road trip to Atlanta and the team is dialed in on what needs to be fixed. The Lions are two points out of a playoff spot in the East, but four matches during the month of August can quickly change that.
“We just need to rise up and play our game,” said City defender Scott Sutter. “We’ve had a rough few weeks. Looking back, we’ve been unlucky a lot of the time. It’s been tough but that’s just the way it is,” he continued. “I think we just need to be a little more concentrated, because it’s not just 90 minutes, it’s 94, 95 minutes so anything can happen. It’s just about concentration.”
Orlando City’s next opponent, the Montreal Impact, earned themselves a draw at Orlando City Stadium in June. Offensively it was one of City’s best performances of the season; a few mistakes hurt Orlando down the stretch and the Lions were forced to push for a late equalizer.
“We did very well against Montreal and then we had a couple of lapses of concentration that punished us. But I feel good going into the game this Saturday,” Scott Sutter told reporters on Tuesday. “Especially with Dom Dwyer coming in. He gives us that energy we need and that fight,” Sutter said.
“Everyone’s really up for it and we want to turn this around.”
