ORLANDO, Fla. (Jan. 26, 2023) — The Orlando Pride have announced Cory Price as the Club’s new Director of Medical & Performance. Price moves into a full-time role with the Club after serving as a contract Physical Therapist since the 2020 season.

In listening to our players feedback, it was clear Cory has developed an incredible amount of trust, while also showcasing his knowledge and care in our medical and performance areas. We’re looking forward to having Cory take the lead on this newly-created and expanded role in our Soccer Operations group as we continue building a best-in-class experience for our Pride players on and off the pitch.”

In this role, Price will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of medical, physical performance, sports science, performance psychology and nutrition across the Club. Price will be at the helm of ensuring player welfare and providing consistent and high-level service for all Orlando Pride players and staff, including close collaboration with Orlando Health, the official medical team of the Pride.
Price is an experienced and board-certified Sports Physical Therapist with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital, healthcare and sports industries. He has been affiliated with the American Physical Therapy Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association, being instrumental in multiple research projects as well as serving as a presenter at different symposiums, schools and conferences all around the country.
A graduate of Virginia Tech University, Price earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science before going on to earn his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from East Carolina University in 2010. Since then, he has an extensive work history in a variety of high-level roles including as a Director of Clinical Operations at Capovela, a Rehab Liaison for the Orlando Ballet, and most recently as a Sports Physical Therapist and Sports Rehabilitation Clinical Specialist at Orlando Health.
Price holds a Sports Clinical Specialist Certification from the American Physical Therapy Association, as well as a Strength and Conditioning Certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He was also awarded 2019 Allied Health Excellence in Fostering Innovation and Change, and 2011 Beginning Practitioner of the Year, both of which came from Orlando Health.
Off the field, Price, as well as members of the Orlando Health medical team and Pride sports performance staff, have been involved in ongoing scientific research that will establish Orlando Pride as a global leader in women’s soccer medicine and performance.
