ORLANDO, Fla. (November 2, 2016) - Orlando City SC forward Cyle Larin has been called up to Canada Men’s National Team for the upcoming international friendly, the Canadian Soccer Association announced today.
Larin is included in Canada Interim Head Coach Michael Findlay’s 18-player squad that will face South Korea on Friday, Nov. 11 at the Cheonan Baekseok Stadium in Cheonan, South Korea. The international friendly match will be broadcast live on CanadaSoccer.com at 7 a.m. ET. Larin has scored five goals in 19 appearances, 13 of them starts, for the Reds.
Orlando City’s leading scorer receives the call-up following another impressive campaign with the Lions. After earning the 2015 AT&T MLS Rookie of the Year award, the 21-year-old again led the team with 14 goals and was named to his first MLS All-Star team, facing English Premier League powerhouse Arsenal F.C. alongside the league’s best talents. The striker was also ranked No. 1 in MLSsoccer.com 24 Under 24, the annual ranking of MLS’ best players under the age of 24.
