ORLANDO – September 4, 2015 – Orlando City SC announced today that defender Conor Donovan has undergone successful surgery to reconstruct a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) in his left knee.
Daryl Osbahr, M.D., Chief of Sports Medicine for Orlando Health, performed the surgery at Orlando Health's downtown campus.
"Conor is in great spirits and we're very pleased with the results of his surgery," said Dr. Osbahr. "He's a dedicated and determined young man who will work extremely hard with our sports medicine team at Orlando Health to get back on the field as soon as possible."
Donovan suffered the injury while making his Major League Soccer (MLS) debut as a starter against the Philadelphia Union on August 8.
The rookie center-back was originally drafted by Orlando City in the second round of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft in January after a standout freshman season at North Carolina State University.
