“Mikey is someone that we’ve seen a lot of progress from since he first signed for the First Team and completed the pathway from the Academy,” said Orlando City EVP of Soccer Operations and General Manager Luiz Muzzi. “He’s featured well in some key games both domestically and internationally with Concacaf Champions League last year and the FIFA U-20 World Cup and we’re excited to see how he develops even further in the next few years.”
The 20-year-old defender has made 17 starts in 36 appearances for the Lions since signing a First Team contract in 2020, providing two helpers in that span. Halliday also made an additional five appearances in 2022 for Orlando City B of MLS NEXT Pro.
Internationally, Halliday has been a key player for the United States U-20 Men’s National Team since 2022, featuring in 12 matches including six in the 2022 Concacaf U-20 Championship and four in the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
A native of Apopka, Fla., Halliday joined the Orlando City Academy in 2016 for its U-13 side and moved up the ranks all the way through the Club’s U-18/19 team. With his contract in 2020, Halliday became the second player in Orlando City history to complete the Club’s full development pathway.
