Coming into the Fall Series after lifting the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup, the Dash entered the competition primarily with the same roster that helped them lift their first trophy in Club history just over two months ago. Their biggest name, however, in forward Rachel Daly is on loan through the remainder of the calendar year with West Ham United after a Challenge Cup campaign that saw her earn MVP honors and the Golden Boot. To add to their roster, the Dash also signed defender Lauren Silver to a short-term contract on Sept. 9.

The Dash have rattled off back-to-back victories in Fall Series play, including a 4-1 victory over the North Carolina Courage this past Sunday. In their last three matches, the Dash hold a 2-0-1 record with both wins coming at BBVA Stadium. The Challenge Cup Champions have found the back of the net seven times in their last two outings, boasting a +5 goal differential

Kristie Mewis was the topic of discussion following the Dash’s win over North Carolina on Sunday night, with a goal and three assists in the contest, now leading Houston with five goal contributions in the Fall Series. Sophie Schmidt continued her form as of late, scoring in her third-consecutive match, while Shea Groom also found the back of the net for the second time in as many contests.

The Pride hold a 5-7-1 record across all competitions against the Dash throughout their history, including a 3-1 loss at BBVA Stadium on Sept. 26 in Fall Series play. In the City Beautiful, Orlando holds a 3-3-0 record against Friday’s opposition, the Dash’s last visit to Orlando taking place on Aug. 10, 2019 in a match that served as Pride captain Ashlyn Harris’s 100th NWSL regular-season appearance.

Friday’s match will take place at Osceola County Stadium, housed on the grounds of the Orlando City SC Training Ground in Kissimmee, Fla. The stadium serves as the home for Orlando City SC’s USL League One side Orlando City B and was renovated into a soccer-specific field this past year.
