Orlando City continues their four-match road trip with their third stop on the trip. This time the team will be taking flight from Miami to Vancouver to take on the Whitecaps on Saturday at 7:30 pm. This will be City’s second-ever visit to the Canadian side. Here is what you need to know about the Caps:
Key Departures
Where do we start? The Caps made a lot of moves during the offseason and that started with letting a lot of guys go all over the park. Starting in the back, MLS veteran keeper David Ousted had his option declined while defender Tim Parker was traded to the Red Bulls. Moving up the pitch, midfielder Tony Tchani was traded to Chicago and Forward Fredy Montero’s loan expired.
Key Additions
The biggest addition in the offseason? That’s easy. The Caps acquired forward Kei Kamara from New England via trade in December. The Lions will have to keep an eye on the pesky MLS vet who has always had a nose for goal.
Recent Form
In 2018 Vancouver has been the model of inconsistency. Through 15 games the Canadian side is 5-5-5 but that’s currently good for sixth in the Western Conference. At home, the Caps have dropped points in five of seven matches with a 2-1-4 record.
Head-to-Head
City is 0-1-2 all-time against Vancouver with a -2 goal differential in those three matches. The most recent meeting saw City fall 2-1 at home last year. The last meeting between the two sides in Vancouver ended 2-2.
