All,
On behalf of everyone at Orlando City, I can’t thank you enough for the incredible, record-breaking support that you’ve shown throughout our inaugural MLS season. We are humbled by the sea of purple that has surrounded the Club, and the intensity of your support every single game.
Unfortunately tonight, we did not achieve our objective of making the playoffs in our first year. While we are clearly disappointed, there is much of which we are proud. We ended the season with one of the highest point totals for an expansion franchise in MLS. We were 5-1 in our final six matches of the season. And, we have already established the MLS attendance record for an expansion Club, thanks to all of you.
Looking ahead – the future is incredibly bright. In the last 10 days, we launched the Orlando Pride NWSL team and Orlando City B, the latter will play an integral part in the development of young players to further strengthen the MLS team. We also continue to make progress on our downtown stadium, which is on track to be completed by the end of next summer. Our squad will return stronger, healthier and wiser – eager to make the playoffs in 2016.
Thank you once again for undying loyalty, for your tireless support and for your commitment to Orlando City.
Vamos Orlando and Go City!
Phil Rawlins
