Luiz Muzzi was brought to Orlando City in January 2019. As Senior Advisor to Ownership, Global Soccer Ventures, Muzzi reports directly to Club ownership, offering his expertise and strategic insight on high-priority sporting projects and future growth opportunities. He focuses on international club partnerships, multi-club ownership models, and key sporting business initiatives. Muzzi also contributes to the long-term vision of Orlando City SC, working closely with ownership and the executive team on major Club decisions.
Muzzi came to Orlando after serving six years with FC Dallas in multiple soccer operations roles, overseeing all aspects of player personnel, scouting and team administration.
While in Frisco, Muzzi built a roster that reached the MLS playoffs in four out of his last five seasons, including two Western Conference Semifinal appearances and a Western Conference Final appearance in 2015. During that span, FC Dallas finished the MLS regular season in first place in 2015 and 2016, and also won the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and claimed the MLS Supporters’ Shield for the first time in club history in 2016.
Muzzi was integral in building one of the most dominant developmental academies in North America, while setting numerous MLS Homegrown records, with FC Dallas.
In 2019, Muzzi led the charge in formulating a backline that tied a Club-record for shutouts in a single season, helping the Lions to concede 22 less goals than the year prior. This marked the second-best improvement of any team in Major League Soccer from the previous year.
Over the past five seasons, Muzzi has overseen the most successful seasons in Club history, winning the U.S. Open Cup in 2022. Since 2020, Orlando has made the MLS Cup Playoffs every season, making it to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2024.
