(June 24, 2016) ā Following Sundayās 2-2 draw with New York Red Bulls II, Orlando City B (5-6-3, 18 points) heads to Canada to face FC Montreal (2-11-1, 7 points) on Sunday, June 26, at Complexe Sportif Claude-Robillard. āI think you can be easily fooled by looking at the league table and thinking that Montreal is going to be an easy game, because it wonāt be. Weāve watched their last three games, theyāve got bright, sharp, technical players, especially in forward areas that are a threat and weāll have to be at our best to beat them. It wonāt be an easy game at all,ā OCB Head Coach Anthony Pulis said. āHaving said that, weāre on a good run ourselves. Weāve been playing well so hopefully we can keep that going now and go get a positive result.ā
In their last fixture, OCB used a late goal to tie the second-place New York Red Bulls II. Devron GarcĆa scored his first goal for the Lions in the 17th minute before New York took the lead going into halftime. Orlando City Designated Player Bryan RĆ³chez entered the game in the 86th minute and needed only one minute to find Pierre Da Silva for the 2-2 equalizer.
Michael Cox leads the team with five goals and 10 shots on goal, while 2016 MLS SuperDraft first-round pick Hadji Barry has three goals and two assists. Goalkeeper Mark Ridgers leads the United Soccer League (USL) with 45 saves.
FC Montreal is coming off a 3-2 win at the Harrisburg City Islanders with Mastanabal Kacher scoring the opening goal in the 30th minute. Zachary Sukunda scored his first professional goal just six minutes before Anthony Jackson-Hamel made it 3-0.
Jackson-Hamel leads Montreal with three goals and one assist. Kacher, David ChoiniĆØre and Alessandro Riggi have one assist each. Goalkeeper Maxime CrĆ©peau is second in the USL with 43 saves.
This is the second meeting of the season between these teams. On May 1, Lewis Neal found Cox in the 37th minute for the gameās only goal as Ridgers made five saves in his second clean sheet of the season.
