Over this past weekend, Orlando City Youth Soccer’s U17 Girls White team participated in the Jacksonville Labor Day Shootout. The girls played one year up in the U18 Gold Division where they not only excelled, they were crowned champions.
The girls had three wins and a tie throughout the 22nd Annual Shootout. They defeated the JYSC Fury Premier Team, the SSA Savannah United Girls Blue and the ASG Warner Soccer Club, all by one point. The girls ended up tying Southside Gold 0-0.
In its early years, the tournament helped fund Patton Park, the site where the shootout is held each year. The park includes a 7,000 seat stadium and multiple fields.
