ORLANDO, Fla. (Sept. 19, 2018) - Orlando City SC (7-18-3, 24 points) returns to Orlando City Stadium to host the Houston Dynamo (8-13-7, 31 points) on Saturday, Sept. 22. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
The match will be locally televised on TV27 and YouTube TV. It will also be transmitted on FM 96.9 The Game in English and La Nueva 990 AM in Spanish.
“The biggest thing for us, as always, is to look at it, assess it, analyze and then equally put it to use as fuel,” Lions head coach James O’Connor said. “We’re aware that we’re not at our best on Sunday so now we need to get out, we need to make sure we get a strong performance and really get after things on Saturday in front of our own supporters.”
This is the first meeting of the season between the Lions and Dynamo. In March 2015, Orlando City picked up its first-ever MLS victory at Houston. City is 1-1-1 against Houston all-time.
The Lions are coming off a 4-0 loss to the Chicago Fire on Sunday.
Dom Dwyer leads City with 12 goals, while Yoshimar Yotún leads the team with 10 assists.
Houston snapped a 10-game winless streak in MLS competition with a 4-1 win over the Portland Timbers on Saturday. Mauro Manotas scored twice, while Alberth Elis and Alejandro Fuenmayor also scored.
Four days after Saturday’s match, Houston will host the Philadelphia Union in the 2018 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final.
Manotas leads the Dynamo with 14 goals, while Elis has 11 goals and nine assists.
