ORLANDO, Fla. (Dec. 21, 2022) – Orlando City SC will launch its ninth Major League Soccer (MLS) campaign on the weekend of February 25, as part of the start of the league’s highly-anticipated new era with Apple TV. In celebration of the Lions’ upcoming season, the Club has announced dates and details for its annual Kickoff to Soccer events.
The community events will feature familiar fan favorites, all hosted at Exploria Stadium, with the first on Feb. 4. Orlando City’s Kickoff to Soccer events provide fans with opportunities to be a part of the unveiling of the new 2023-24 primary jersey, presented by Orlando Health; support local students and schools; and run in the Club’s annual Purple Pride 5K.

2023 Kickoff to Soccer events:
Orlando Regional Spelling Bee
Saturday, Feb. 4 | Location: Exploria Stadium
Orlando City SC is set to provide students and schools in Central Florida with the opportunity to participate in the 2023 Scripps National Spelling Bee at Exploria Stadium, through the Orlando Regional Spelling Bee, the second-consecutive year the Club has hosted the event.
Purple Pride 5K
Saturday, Feb. 11 | 8 a.m. ET | Location: Exploria Stadium
Fans can get their year off to a running start at the eighth annual Purple Pride 5K. Runners will tackle a brand new course before entering Exploria Stadium and sprinting down the sideline to earn their commemorative race medal and enjoy post-race photo ops and festivities. The Purple Pride 5K is presented by Orlando Health, Publix and Aquafina.
2023-24 Jersey Launch
Saturday, Feb. 18 | Location: Exploria Stadium
Fans can mark their calendars for the reveal of the Club’s new, highly-anticipated 2023-24 primary jersey, presented by Orlando Health. More details on the event are coming soon.
2023 Home Opener vs. NY Red Bulls, presented by Orlando Health
Saturday, Feb. 25 | Location: Exploria Stadium
City will open its ninth MLS campaign on Saturday, Feb. 25, set to host the New York Red Bulls in its home opener, presented by Orlando Health. The match is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET in what will serve as the ninth-consecutive year that the Lions will open their campaign in downtown Orlando.
