ORLANDO, Fla. (April 26, 2021) — In the Club’s latest effort to give back to the local community, Orlando City SC has teamed up with FAIRWINDS and announced the “Small Biz Assist” contest, which will offer the unique opportunity for one Orlando-based business to become the 2021 Official Small Business of Orlando City.
Local small businesses are eligible to enter the contest now through May 17, 2021, at fairwinds.org/smallbiz.
“We’re proud to partner with our friends at Orlando City SC to provide such a valuable opportunity to help one of our local small businesses”, said Elisha González, vice president of community relations and government affairs at FAIRWINDS and executive director of the FAIRWINDS Foundation. “This gifted sponsorship package will give a business a welcome boost of advertising and awareness, especially for those impacted by COVID-19.”
"As a long-time partner of Orlando City, FAIRWINDS understands the power of sports marketing through both their experience working with our Club as well as the many other sporting organizations within Central Florida,” Orlando City SC VP of Corporate Partnerships Chris Lahey said. “We know many small businesses here, in our backyard, were greatly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and its many unprecedented challenges, so we are very excited to be working together with FAIRWINDS to bring to life the Small Biz Assist sponsorship program to help our neighbors."
Following submissions, the entrants will be reviewed by a panel of judges that includes representatives from both Orlando City SC and FAIRWINDS to select the winning small business, which will receive a free 2021 sponsorship package from Orlando City.
The Club’s 2021 Official Small Business package will include in-stadium advertisement, inclusion in Club’s email marketing, ads on OrlandoCitySC.com, and more throughout the 2021 regular season.
