ORLANDO, Fla. (July 1, 2017) - Orlando City Stadium will host the Orlando City Development Academy U-17/18 knockout round match against the Colorado Rapids U-17/18s on Friday, July 7, at 6 p.m. ET. Admission is free of charge, though fans must register to attend at the link here.
This is the first time the OCDA U-17/18 squad has advanced past the group stage of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy playoffs in its six-year history. The winner of the match will advance to the U.S. Soccer DA Championships at the National Training Center in Carson, Calif.
After going 24-5-1 and entering the postseason as the No. 2 team in the country, City’s U-17/18s won all three group stage matches, including the must-win finale to win the group. Orlando City is the highest-ranked team remaining in the tournament.
The Orlando City Development Academy is the Club’s youth development system that selects and trains elite youth soccer players with the hopes of developing future First Team talents. Two Academy products, Mason Stajduhar and Pierre Da Silva, are currently on City’s First Team roster. Five current Academy players have featured or been included in OCB 18-man gameday selections this season.
