ORLANDO, Fla. — After a tough first outing of the year, Orlando City SC looks to rebound tonight against Toronto FC.
After his breakout year with Orlando City B in 2024 and his impressive preseason, Homegrown defender Alex Freeman will get the start at right back as Dagur Dan Thorhallsson will be available off the bench. This is the 20-year-old's first start with the first team since signing as a Homegrown back in 2022.
With both Robin Jansson and now David Brekalo out for the match, the versatile Kyle Smith will slot into the centerback spot alongside Rodrigo Schlegel.
The rest of the starting lineup remains the same as last weekend against the Philadelphia Union.
On the bench, young players Colin Guske and Gustavo Caraballo once again signed short-term deals ahead of tonight's match. Orlando City B defender Zakaria Taifi also joins them, singing a short-term deal for this match.
Shak Mohammed and Thomas Williams will also be available off the bench, if needed.
