ORLANDO, Fla. (Feb. 26, 2019) - Orlando Pride has acquired an international roster spot for the 2019 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season, as well as a pair of 2020 NWSL College Draft picks from the Houston Dash. In exchange for Houston’s natural third and fourth round picks, the Dash receive the rights to midfielder Christine Nairn.
“On behalf of the entire Orlando Pride organization, I would like to thank Christine for her dedication and contributions to the Pride last year. We wish her the best of luck in Houston,” Orlando Pride General Manager Erik Ustruck said.
Nairn, 28, was acquired by the Pride in January 2018 from Seattle Reign FC. In her lone season with the Pride, the Penn State product made 20 appearances, scoring one goal and adding four assists over 1,115 minutes.
The Pride begin their 2019 season on April 14, hosting Portland Thorns FC at Orlando City Stadium. Season and group tickets for that match are currently on sale at orlando-pride.com/tickets or by calling (855) ORL-CITY. Single game tickets will be on sale at a later date.
