Orlando Pride Acquires 2022 Third Round Draft Pick From Kansas City

Orlando Pride Acquires 2022 Third Round Draft Pick From Kansas City

ORLANDO, Fla. (March 30, 2021) - The Orlando Pride has acquired a natural third round pick in the 2022 NWSL Draft from Kansas City, it was announced today. In return, the 2021 expansion side receives midfielder Jordyn Listro from the Pride.
The natural third round pick could change to Kansas City’s lowest-held second round pick in the same draft, should conditions of the trade be met. If the conditions are met and Kansas City no longer holds a second round pick in 2022, the Pride will then receive the side’s natural second round pick in 2023.
“Jordyn has been a consummate professional during her time with the Pride, putting in the work every day since joining us for the Fall Series last season and being a great teammate for the locker room,” Orlando Pride General Manager Ian Fleming said. “Jordyn’s short-term goals have evolved positively as a result of her recent international call-ups and we’re happy to come to a deal that not only provides her with an opportunity to meet those goals, but that gives the Pride a valuable asset for the future. We want to wish her the best of luck in Kansas City and thank her for all she has given to the Club and community over the last year.”
Listro, 25, signed with the Pride earlier this year after featuring for the Club on a short-term contract at the NWSL Fall Series a year ago. Through the competition, the Canadian international appeared in three matches for Orlando, all of which were starts, totaling 262 minutes. At the 2021 SheBelieves Cup, Listro recorded her international debut at Exploria Stadium, starting against Argentina on Feb. 21, logging 61 minutes in the match.

TRANSACTION: Orlando Pride acquires conditional 2022 natural third round pick, which could convert to a 2022 or 2023 second round pick, from Kansas City in exchange for midfielder Jordyn Listro.
