Orlando Pride has announced the launch of a funded Girls’ Development Academy (DA), which will begin its inaugural year for the 2017-18 season, and will be open to players born between 1999 to 2005.
The Orlando Pride Development Academy will focus on providing elite female athletes with a positive and high-level club environment to maximize their development. The DA increases the training to game ratio by playing fewer, but more meaningful, matches and providing assistance for coaching education and development.
The Academy will offer four teams at the 1999/00, 2001/02, 2003 and 2004 age levels.
Players and families interested in learning more about the DA are invited to attend an information meeting on Sunday, March 12 at 1 p.m. at Orlando City Stadium. The meeting will include a presentation on the DA as well as a question and answer session will members of the Academy’s staff.
