After making it six straight unbeaten road games last weekend, Orlando Pride (6-3-4, 22 points) returns home to face the Houston Dash (3-5-5, 14 points) on Wednesday, June 27. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET at Orlando City Stadium.

“[Houston] lost last weekend, but previous to that they’ve only lost one in their last six games. They’ve improved significantly,” Pride Head Coach Tom Sermanni said. “They signed two high-quality players from Chicago last week in [Sofia] Huerta and [Taylor] Comeau. They are a very structured team, very well disciplined, very well organized and they’ve got some players that can really hurt you up front. It’s going to be another difficult game.”
A win on Wednesday would match a season-high five-game unbeaten streak for the Pride that began on Saturday, May 26, with a 5-2 win at Chicago. Orlando previously went unbeaten over the course of five matches this season from April 22 to May 12. Three of its last four results have come away from home as a part of the Club-record six-game road unbeaten stretch.
Orlando is fresh off a 1-0 victory over the Washington Spirit on Saturday. The lone goal of the match came from Alanna Kennedy’s SportsCenter Top 10 strike from midfield in the 11th minute that soared over the head of former Orlando Pride goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe. The clean sheet was the fifth for the Pride this season, setting a new Club record just past the midway point of the season.
Rachel Hill, Sydney Leroux and Chioma Ubogagu share the title of leading scorer for the Pride with four goals apiece. Christine Nairn’s four assists are tied for the lead in league assists with two other players. With her three key saves on Saturday, Ashlyn Harris is now second in NWSL with 39 saves.
Houston is coming off a 3-1 home loss to Portland on Friday. Tobin Heath started the scoring in the ninth minute for the Thorns and Houston answered three minutes later off a goal from Huerta in her Dash debut. The Thorns then went on to score two more goals to secure the victory.
Rachel Daly leads Houston with four goals this season. Thembi Kgatlana leads the Dash with three assists.
This will be the second meeting between the two sides at Orlando City Stadium this season, with the Pride earning a 1-0 victory on April 22. Ubogagu scored the lone goal of the match to earn the Pride their first win of the season.
Following Wednesday’s match, the Pride will have a quick turnaround as they face the league-leading North Carolina Courage on Saturday at Orlando City Stadium for the Lifetime Game of the Week.
