Orlando City Youth Soccer (OCYS) was in full force at the Disney President’s Day Soccer Festival this past weekend, as numerous teams won their divisions during the prestigious tournament.
In the top boys division, six OCYS teams claimed first place positions in their respective groups. Each division in the U-9 through U-14 age groups had premier teams from various regions, including New York, Jacksonville, Miami, Chicago, and Canada.
The U-12 bracket featured a championship match between two teams from Orlando City, who both advanced in the finals after defeating top teams from New York and Chicago – showcasing the depth of talent at OCYS. In a thrilling contest, the U-12 Purple 2 squad defeated the Purple 1 team to ultimately claim the championship.
The U-13 and U-14 Purple teams also advanced through tough brackets to secure their division titles – defeating teams from New Jersey, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Michigan.
“Overall, the coaching staff is very pleased with the growth of our youth academy, and we will continue to push our players in the youth training system to higher levels of development,” said OCYS Pro Academy Coach Craig Melton.
