The Viking currently sits second in Club-history at 7,620, behind only former Lions midfielder Cristian Higuita at 7,692. Former Orlando City goalkeeper Joe Bendik holds the overall record at 8,248, a mark he reached in three seasons in purple.
Back in the Attack
Chris Mueller found the back of the net for the third time this season on Wednesday night, accounting for the Lions’ lone finish of the night against CF Montréal. The 2018 MLS SuperDraft selection now sits with eight goal contributions on the year, with five assists to add to his three finishes. In his fourth season as a Lion, Mueller has found the back of the net 22 times while sitting at second in Club history in assists with 23.
Assisting the Attack
Ruan tallied his third assist of the campaign on Mueller’s first-half finish Wednesday night in what served as his second helper in as many contests for the Lions. The Brazilian’s three assists on the year sits as the most by a City defender, passing teammate Kyle Smith at two. Ruan has also found the back of the net in 2021, with two finishes to add to his three assists this season.
He’s Back…
Alexandre Pato made his return to the field on Wednesday night, entering the match in the 86th minute of play for Mauricio Pereyra. The minutes served as the first for the Brazilian international since April 17 against Atlanta United after going down with an injury late in the match.
