1 - Wrap Up The Road Trip
Saturday’s match will wrap up a two-game road trip for the Pride, who played in Boston last week. After the game in Kansas City, the Pride return to Orlando for their final three home games - all throughout the month of September. Orlando ends the regular season on the road on Sept. 30 at North Carolina.
2 - The Alex Effect
Orlando’s offense has been on a tear as of late. The Pride have scored 35 goals this season, second-most goals by a team in the league. Orlando has been led by a trio of talented attackers in Alex Morgan, Marta and Camila.
Since Morgan has returned, the Pride have scored an average 2.3 goals after averaging 1.5 goals in games she did not play in.
Morgan has scored all seven of her goals in five of the last six match and, since joining the Pride on July 1, is averaging a goal every 86.8 minutes - best in the league.
3 - Ashlyn Awarded
Goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris won her third NWSL Save of the Week award last week, earning the fans’ pick for best stop with her fourth-minute save at Boston.
The 2016 NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year won the weekly award nine times last season.
4 - Left On The Field
Through 19 games, the Pride lead the league with 20 of their 35 goals scored with the left foot. Chicago is the next closest team, with seven goals scored in the same fashion.
Marta, a left-footed player, leads the league with nine left- footed goals - more than any player has scored over the last two season combined.
5 - Undefeated August?
With a win on Saturday afternoon, the Pride can finish the month of August undefeated. It would be the first time in the team’s short history that it goes a month without a loss.
6 - Fighting For Four
Both Orlando and Kansas City enters Saturday’s match looking for their fourth consecutive victory. The Pride have picked up three straight wins dating back to Aug. 8, while outscoring opponents 10-1 in the process.
The Blues have also taken three wins in a row, a streak started with a 1-0 win over Houston Dash on Aug. 13. The team most recently beat Chicago 3-1 on Sunday.
7 - Krieger Hits 1,000
During the Aug. 19 match at Boston, Krieger finished with 48 passes and reached an even 1,000 passes attempted so far this NWSL season. That number ranks second-most by all players in the league.
Kansas City’s Yael Averbuch ranks first in total passes, leading the league with 1,021.
8 - Pride, In Numbers
With an impressive recent form, the Pride are jumping up the rankings on both the table and overall league statistics. The Pride are second in total goals scored (35), just two away from Seattle’s league-leading 37. Orlando leads the league in both possession (54.19%) and passing accuracy (77.75%), as well as passing accuracy in the final third (64.47%).
Marta leads the league in chances created (46), while Camila is tops with passing accuracy in the final third (78.9%). Ali Krieger leads in successful passes (813).
9 - Three Teams A Charm
For the fourth and final week in August, all three Orlando City SC teams will be in action on the same day. The Pride start Saturday with a 3:30 p.m. ET match at Kansas City, followed by Orlando City B (USL) at Louisville at 7:30 p.m. ET and Orlando City (MLS) hosting Vancouver at the same time.
10 - Spencer Sidelined
Orlando Pride forward Jasmyne Spencer will miss Saturday’s match after suffering a right hamstring strain in the Pride’s last match at Boston. Spencer came on as a second-half substitute but was injured just a few minutes into her 17th appearance this season. She was replaced by Jamia Fields.
