KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Add another to the preseason win column for Orlando City.
The Lions moved to 2-0 in exhibition play on Saturday at Osceola County Stadium, downing visiting Florida International University 3-1 thanks to a pair of goals from Martín Ojeda and another from 2023 first-round pick Duncan McGuire.
Following a scoreless opening half, McGuire, the former Creighton University standout, entered as a substitute off the bench and got Orlando on the board in the 47th minute.
Ojeda, the designated player acquired in January from Godoy Cruz of Argentina’s Primera División, doubled the Lions' advantage in the 50th before completing the brace with a smooth finish after rounding FIU's keeper in the 59th.
Pedro Gallese got the start in net for Orlando City, keeping a clean sheet through the first half before turning things over to Mason Stajduhar, who yielded a goal but made a clutch stop to turn aside an FIU penalty kick late in the match.
Orlando continues its preseason slate on Saturday, Feb. 11 in another closed-door match against Colorado Rapids.
