Coming off the field after the first practice of the week, Coach Adrian Heath spoke of the progress that Orlando City has shown compared to this time last year, “We had a really good week… we’re considerably further down the road in terms of intensity of sessions, length of sessions and distance covered so we’re very pleased with where we are.”
With the first week of practice in the books, Orlando City is focusing their sites on their upcoming training in Brevard County and first friendly against Eastern Florida.
“We’ve certainly upped the intensity this morning,” Head Coach Adrian Heath noted of the longer practice today. In Brevard Orlando City will be participating in two-a-day practices, training and conditioning themselves as they head into the preseason.
“It’s exciting. It will be a good week of training, lots of training,” forward Pedro Ribeiro noted about traveling to Brevard County. Speaking about the upcoming game, the 6 foot 4 Brazilian made no question about the significance of the game, “That’s going to be important for us to see where we’re at as a team and as individuals.”
Ribeiro also has noticed the difference in the club this season, “It’s a lot different than last year. A lot easier than last year for us to get used to each other.”
With a more unified team expectations are set high and the club seems ready to excel. “It’s an exciting time,” Ribeiro said with a grin.
