Egypt got their World Cup preparation underway on Friday. The Pharaohs faced off against Kuwait in their first friendly with their World Cup preliminary roster. City's Amro Tarek did not appear in the match as Egypt fought to a 1-1 draw without their star, Mohamed Salah. The Pharaohs play Colombia on Friday at 3:15 p.m. ET and Belgium on June 6 at 2:45 p.m. ET before they officially begin their World Cup run.
Meanwhile, around the globe, Peru and Yoshi Yotun got their run of pre-World Cup friendlies started against Scotland on Tuesday night. Yoshi played 69 minutes in the middle of the park for La Blanquirroja and had an assist on the way to a 2-0 win against their Scottish counterparts. Peru has two matches remaining before their World Cup run begins starting with Saudi Arabia on Sunday,\ at 2 p.m. ET and finally Sweden on June 9 at 1:15 p.m. ET.
