ORLANDO – December 2, 2014 – Orlando City Soccer Club Founder and President Phil Rawlins has been elected into the USL PRO Hall of Fame, placing his name alongside 100 of the most influential figures in American soccer.

Rawlins will join the USL Men’s Hall of Fame in the Builder category, and will be formally inducted at the USL Hall of Fame Banquet on Friday, December 12, 2014.

“I’m proud to be a part of the growth and development of USL PRO,” said Rawlins. “It’s an honor to be inducted into the Hall of Fame as USL PRO was an important part of our Club’s history.”

Since its inception, Rawlins has led Orlando City to incredible success – earning several accolades both on and off the field. In four seasons in USL PRO, the Lions won three regular-season titles and two USL PRO Championships.

Off the field, Rawlins was at the forefront of the Club’s ascension into Major League Soccer (MLS), as Orlando City saw year-on-year growth in attendance. City’s 2013 USL PRO Championship game attendance of 20,886 fans still stands as a record for any minor league championship game in the United States.

Additionally, Rawlins has been influential at the league level by serving as a member of USL PRO’s Board of Governors, helping the league forge forward during the past four years by imparting his insight and knowledge to USL’s new franchises.
