Director of Goalkeeping Chris Barocas has been named to the U.S. U16 Women’s National Team staff for the upcoming combined 16/17 camp in Carson, Calif., taking place from Oct. 11-18.
We caught up with Barocas to hear his thoughts.
“It’s a tremendous honor to be included in an event like this. I am going in with a great group of coaches that I am sure will help me learn and develop,” he said. “The first things I did after responding to the email inviting me was to call the people that have helped continue my development over the years. I called former coaches, coaching instructors, mentors and several current and former goalkeepers. They all have their role in my growth, and I am very appreciative of their continuous support. I am very anxious to get out to camp and on the field with goalkeepers.”
All the players in this camp are age-eligible for the next FIFA U-17s Women’s World Cup in 2016.
Look for our follow- up with Barocas after the camp to hear about his experiences.
