Five Different Lions Score In Six-Goal Offensive Explosion

Five Lions Score

Goals, goals and more goals. Itā€™s safe to say the floodgates were open on Wednesday night at Orlando City Stadium.

Orlando City dismantled the New England Revolution, 6-1, in match that saw five different Lions find the back of the net. KakĆ” snagged a brace; Seb Hines scored a towering header; Antonio Nocerino and Yoshi YotĆŗn netted their first goals in purple; and Dom Dwyer smashed home his first in the Fortress.

ā€œItā€™s really good that we see multiple guys scoring,ā€ Orlando City head coach Jason Kreis said after the match. ā€œI think the number of players that are committed to our attacking moves has been better for a while now.ā€

Kreis continued:

ā€œWeā€™ve been unfortunate in some other games not to score more, so itā€™s good that on a night like tonight we reap some rewards for that. All the guys feel great and all the guys that scored feel a little bit of weight has been lifted off their shoulders as well.ā€

Credit New England - down a man for the majority of the match - for trying to hold off the relentless Lions attack. But the 10-men Revolution struggled to contain an Orlando City team that was absolutely flying around the pitch.

ā€œWeā€™ve proven that when the guys are committed, and we work really hard together, we can be a very good team,ā€ Kreis added.

Six goals is an all-time Orlando City record for goals scored in a single match, and the Lions will be craving for more this Saturday against FC Dallas.
