ORLANDO, Fla. (Aug. 22, 2020) - Orlando Pride forward Claire Emslie has been loaned to FA Women’s Super League side Everton FC, the Club announced today. Emslie will join Everton immediately with the loan set to run until December 31, 2020, with the Pride holding the right to recall.
The 26-year-old forward returned to the Pride in 2020 after lifting the W-League double this past offseason while on loan with Melbourne City FC, winning both the Premiership and Championship. Emslie appeared in 12 matches for City through the campaign, netting five goals and adding three assists.
Emslie joined the Pride midway through the 2019 season upon her return from the FIFA Women’s World Cup, where she represented Scotland in the nation’s first showing at the marquee international tournament and scored the first World Cup goal in its history. She would go on to make 11 appearances for the Pride a year ago, with nine starts and one assist to her credit.
Prior to joining the Pride, Emslie spent three seasons in the FA WSL, with stints at Manchester City and Bristol City. In 2018-19, she helped lead the Blues to the 2018-19 FA Women’s Continental League Cup Championship, as well as the Women’s FA Cup.
