Orlando City, in tandem with multiple top clubs in Central and North Florida, are hosting tryouts for elite prospects born between 2005 and 2009 as part of the club’s effort to build a robust player pipeline from the Development Academy to the first team.
The first of these tryouts saw a total of 160 players and their coaches invited to Osceola Heritage Park.
Orlando City Head Coach Oscar Pareja, alongside Academy Staff, had the opportunity to evaluate the players. Coach Pareja himself conducted training for the 2008/09 age groups, saying he was “extremely impressed” with the talent.
Orlando City Staff also actively scouts the top prospects in the region with the goal of inviting them to play for the club’s U15 and U17 teams. “The objective is to see some of these young players in our first team down the road,” said Orlando City Academy Director Marcelo Neveleff.
Orlando City will continue to host tryouts through the end of May.
