Vanilla Ice exploded on the music scene in 1990 selling 10 million albums in four months and hitting number one on the Billboard charts with the No. 1 single “Ice Ice Baby”. His worldwide album sales total over 25 million and individual songs total over 160 million and are still selling. A Grammy nominee, Vanilla Ice has also won two MTV Awards and a People’s Choice Award.

A native of Harlem, New York, Rob Base is perhaps best known for his debut album with DJ EZ Rock, It Takes Two. The title track and album were certified platinum by the RIAA on June 12, 1989 and December 28, 1989, respectively, and produced 3 top ten hits. The single gained Single of the Year honors from both Spin Magazine and The Village Voice, and has been featured in numerous hit movies such as The Proposal, Love & Basketball and countless Marvel Films.

The second R&B artist to sign with Def Jam Recordings, Montell Jordan yielded one of 1995's biggest hits with his debut single, "This Is How We Do It." The party anthem topped the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks and sold over one million copies, with the accompanying album reaching platinum as a result.
