Giles Barnes was brought onto the Pride coaching staff following the appointment of Head Coach Seb Hines ahead of the 2023 season. Barnes served as Hines’ interim assistant during the final 15 games of the 2022 campaign.

Barnes made his professional debut as a 17-year-old and spent four years with England-based side Derby County as a consistent starter during their time in the Premier League. Following his stint with Derby County, he then helped West Bromwich Albion gain promotion to the Premier League where he played for them until transferring to Doncaster Rovers FC.

Barnes transitioned to Major League Soccer in the United States in 2012 after signing with the Houston Dynamo. He played for a few different MLS teams before being traded to Orlando City in 2017. He would go on and appear in 34 games for the Lions during the 2017 season netting three goals and tallying two assists.

The former striker earned his USSF National B Coaching License in December 2021.
