1. In a game billed as a top-tier rematch between two of the best teams in the NWSL, the game finished with fewer fireworks than the teams' first meeting in July.
2. Both teams created good chances throughout the game, but neither team had a high expected goal percentage. It's a testament to both sides and their defensive efforts, as well as Almuth Schult getting some big saves on Marta.
3. The Pride were held scoreless for the first time since June 15 at North Carolina and only the second time all season. Kansas City played a lot of the game with 11 players behind the ball, sitting in a low block and making it hard for the Pride to break their lines. Head Coach Seb Hines and the players talked about it after the game, saying they were mindful of the counterattack and looked to negate that, but Hines also mentioned that the team wasn't as brave as they usually are in terms of attempting those line-breaking passes due to the threat of the counter.
4. It's yet another shutout for Anna Moorhouse and the Pride defense, now 11 out of their 20 games keeping a clean sheet. It's also four straight games with a clean sheet, which is their longest run of games without conceding a goal in the competition (since at least 2016/2017). With tonight's result, Moorhouse has now tied the NWSL record for clean sheets in a season, matching AD Franch from 2017 and Casey Murphy from 2021. With six games still to go, there's ample opportunity for her to earn the accolade.
5. Make it 21 unbeaten for the team now, the most in league history. The incredible run just keeps going and the buy-in from the team has been so consistent. Even now, they are striving for more.
6. Evelina Duljan had another standout substitute performance after playing the final 30-plus minutes of the game. Hines praised her technical dribbling ability in tight spaces, one of the reasons that she was brought on in that moment. She was able to create for herself and her teammates, her most significant chance coming right at the end of the game, weaving between defenders en route to goal. The ceiling for the young Swedish midfielder continues to be raised.
7. 9,396 Pride fans came out to support the team in a marquee matchup, the second-highest attended game this season. Inter&Co Stadium has become a fortress for the team, earning seven wins and three draws in its 10 games at home. With three of the Pride's final six in their friendly confines, the final stretch of the season will be crucial for the team's support system.
8. Orlando now heads westward with an away fixture against expansion side Bay FC. The game is set for Friday, Sept. 20, with kickoff set for 10:30 p.m ET.
