The Story:
- The Pride extended their unbeaten streak to start the 2024 NWSL regular season to six games following the win at Washington. After starting the season with three-straight draws, the Club has won three-straight matches, its longest streak since May 2021.
- Newly acquired Zambian international player Barbra Banda made her first career NWSL start against the Spirit. Banda became the first player to score a goal, pick up an assist and earn a penalty kick in an NWSL match since Marta, who did it for Orlando back in October of last season against Racing Louisville.
- If the Pride score a goal against the Courage, it will serve as the longest stretch of games with at least one goal scored in Club history at 11.
Quote of the Week:
“We played them in preseason and obviously last year as well. They’re a team that likes to possess the ball, they like to draw you out, and have a number of passes within their game. Again, it’s going to be a tough match. We have to be organized, we have to read the times when to press and when to sit back. I thought this year we’ve done a terrific job of understanding those moments as well as threatening in transition also. It’s just reading those cues and those triggers and then hopefully we can get some success on the other side of it.”
- Head Coach Seb Hines
