10 - Pereyra provides
Mauricio Pereyra tacked on yet another assist this past weekend, giving him a total of 10 for the 2021 season. That number is currently the single-season Orlando City record, with Pereyra the fourth man to reach it after Kaká in 2016, Yoshimar Yotún in 2018, and Nani in 2019. With eight games remaining to collect his 11th assist, Pereyra seems destined to set a new Club record in the category.
4 - Holding out
Nashville SC have been a dominant home team since coming into MLS last year. Despite only existing for two seasons, the Blue and Gold have knocked off nine of their 13 Eastern Conference opponents. Orlando is one of four yet to lose in Nashville, alongside CF Montréal, the Columbus Crew, and the New York Red Bulls. Of those four sides, Columbus and RBNY have yet to face Nashville at Nissan Stadium, making Orlando one of just two teams in the East to head to Tennessee and avoid defeat.
16 - A Golden season?
Orlando City will see DC United striker Ola Kamara for the second time in 2021 this Saturday. While the Lions held the Black and Red scoreless in a 1-0 win at Audi Field back in May, Kamara has since exploded, leading the league with 16 goals. An astonishing seven have come via penalty kick, four more than any other player in the league. DC United leads MLS with eight penalties won, two ahead of LAFC.
17 - Home sweet home
It will surely be nice for Orlando City to play at home again on Saturday. 17 days will have elapsed since the Lions’ previous home game, a span in which they’ll have traveled to face three of the East’s current top-four sides within 11 days.
