ORLANDO, Fla. (Jan. 8, 2025) – Orlando City B has signed Orlando City Academy product and goalkeeper Tristan Himes to an MLS NEXT Pro contract, it was announced today, becoming yet another player to move up through the Club’s development pathway.
“This is an exciting first step for us this year on the path to achieving our goals for 2025 and beyond,” said Orlando City SC VP of Soccer Operations and Technical Director Ricardo Moreira. “Tristan is a player that is homegrown, that we’ve seen develop in our Academy here in Orlando and a bright young player. He’s someone whose path took him to play and get more experience in college and now we’re excited to bring him back home to Central Florida.”
A product of the Orlando City Academy, Himes went directly from the Academy to the collegiate level the last few years, spending two seasons at the University of South Carolina before transferring to Coastal Carolina University for his junior and senior seasons. The DeBary, Fla., native was eligible for selection this year in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft.
Himes, 24, totaled 23 matches in net across three NCAA seasons, making 57 saves and keeping three clean sheets, missing his junior season at Coastal Carolina due to injury.
