The skinny

  • The Lions enter Saturday’s match having won two of three in downtown Orlando against FC Cincinnati, holding a +6 goal-differential at home against the Orange & Blue. City will look to avenge a 2-1 home loss a year ago to this weekend’s opposition, after having taken convincing victories in their two previous meetings in 2019 and 2021.
  • Captain Mauricio Pereyra is set to make his 100th appearance in purple in all competitions on Saturday night, set to become the third active member of the roster to reach the century mark alongside defenders Robin Jansson and Kyle Smith. Pereyra joined the Club at the tail end of the 2019 season and has since cemented his name as the Orlando City all-time assist leader with 35.

They said it

“Cincinnati has changed. Their new coaching staff has provided them with a style of play that is more regular. We can see their performances aren’t just regular, but they’ve had success this last year with their young coaches that bring new ideas that you can see on the pitch. In reviewing our matches against them, it gives us a good note on how we can face them this time. We’re very positive, we have good momentum with the boys, and we have in front of us a tough journey, but it’s welcomed by the group. We’re very proud to be on this journey.” -- Head Coach Oscar Pareja
