The first fan event of Orlando City’s Kickoff Week, the third annual Purple Pride 5K, nears a sell out with less than 1,000 spots remaining of the total 2,500 spots available for the race being staged at Orlando City’s new stadium on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 9 a.m.
Early registration starts at $32 through Feb. 17. From Feb. 18 to Feb. 22 the participation rate will be $35 and $40 at packets at pick-up and on Race Day. Runners can register here: //www.orlandocitysc.com/ockickoff/5k
Purple Pride 5K
In addition to a race t-shirt and a ticket to a future Orlando City match, each finisher will receive an exclusive die-cast medal, commemorating the stadium opening. Featuring the iconic architecture of the stadium roof-line and the 5K’s traditional lead runner, Kingston, this is a one-of-a-kind medal for collectors.
This 5K fun run will not include individual age group awards; however, $1,000 in Publix gift cards will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers. In addition, more than $700 in Academy Sports + Outdoors gift cards will be awarded to randomly selected finishers throughout the run.
Presenting sponsors for the Purple Pride 5K include Orlando Health, SunPass, jetBlue, Environmental Painting Alternatives and Floor & Décor. Additional Purple Pride 5K partners include Publix, Academy Sports + Outdoors, Grand Bohemian Hotel and Advocare.
Also on Saturday, Feb. 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., fans are invited to tour the stadium during our House Party.
