ORLANDO, Fla. (Dec. 5, 2024) – Following the conclusion of its 10th Major League Soccer season, fifth-straight Audi MLS Cup Playoffs appearance and first-ever appearance in the Eastern Conference Final, Orlando City SC has announced the end-of-season statuses for each of its players.
The Lions enter the 2024-25 offseason with 18 players under guaranteed contracts for the upcoming campaign. That includes forwards Iván Angulo, Ramiro Enrique, Duncan McGuire, Luis Muriel, Facundo Torres and Yutaro Tsukada; midfielders Heine Gikling Bruseth, Wilder Cartagena, Favian Loyola, Shak Mohammed, Martín Ojeda and Dagur Dan Thórhallsson; defenders David Brekalo, Alex Freeman, Mikey Halliday, Robin Jansson and Tahir Reid-Brown; and goalkeeper Mason Stajduhar.
The Club has exercised its contract options on forward Jack Lynn; defenders Rafael Santos, Rodrigo Schlegel and Thomas Williams; and goalkeeper Javier Otero. Goalkeeper Pedro Gallese and midfielders César Araújo and Nico Lodeiro had their options triggered in-season after achieving their respective performance-based metrics.
The contracts of both midfielder Felipe and defender Kyle Smith have expired, with the Lions currently undergoing negotiations with Smith over his potential return in 2025.
Finally, City has declined the options of forward Gastón González; midfielder Jeorgio Kocevski; defenders Luca Petrasso and Abdi Salim; and goalkeeper Carlos Mercado.
