Orlando City SC Signs Gustavo Caraballo & Colin Guske to Short-Term Agreements

ORLANDO, Fla. (Feb. 22, 2025) – Orlando City SC has signed midfielders Colin Guske and Gustavo Caraballo to short-term agreements, it was announced today. Guske and Caraballo will be available for selection for Orlando City’s 2025 Home Opener, presented by Orlando Health, against the Philadelphia Union on Saturday, Feb. 22, at Inter&Co Stadium. That match is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

A product of the Orlando City Academy, Guske made his professional debut this past season with Orlando City B, starting in 24 of his 25 appearances. The St. Johns, Fla., native scored one goal and provided two assists throughout the campaign, with his first professional goal coming in the Club’s season-opening match against Atlanta United 2, tallying the game-winner. In 2024, the midfielder played the most minutes of any MLS NEXT Pro player born in 2007 and was also selected as a 2024 MLS NEXT All-Star earlier last year.

Orlando City signed Guske to a First Team contract as a Homegrown player on Dec. 16, 2024.

Off-Roster Homegrown Players are ineligible for MLS League Season competition except as short-term call-ups. Off-Roster Homegrown Players may appear as short-term call-ups in up to six MLS League Season matches per season.

Caraballo, born on Aug. 29, 2008, became the youngest player to sign a professional contract in Club history at 14 years, 11 months and 16 days old at the time of his signing for Orlando City B of MLS NEXT Pro in 2023. The Orlando, Florida native has been around the professional and international game through much of his life as the son of esteemed Venezuelan National Team midfielder Gustavo Caraballo Sr. Gustavo Sr.’s professional career saw him play in the Toyota Libertadores Cup and the CONMEBOL Cup, as well as internationally with Venezuela beginning in 1990. The 16-year-old won the Golden Boot at the 2023 edition of the Generation adidas Cup in the U-15 age bracket, tying two other players with four goals in the competition to take the honors.
