Orlando City’s newest acquisition, Swiss midfielder Adrian Winter, answered a few questions about his career, personal life, and coming to Orlando.
Coming from the Swiss League, what is your impression of MLS?
“It’s a league that’s really improving. They have a lot of very nice supporters. I hear also it’s a league where you have to fly a lot. In Switzerland you can go with a bus two hours and you are at the longest distance. So now here you can fly maybe five hours to Seattle to play before 50,000 supporters. I hear only good things from MLS and I’m very happy to be here.”
Who are your favorite players and team?
“I’ve liked Zlatan Ibrahimović and Kaká my whole life. I like AC Milan.”

What is your best soccer memory?
“When I was in Switzerland, we played in the Cup. When you win, you move on and when you lose you go out. It was the final and I scored [game-winning goal]. The stadium was full and I went to the supporters and I was very happy. We went to the final.”
What have you heard about Orlando City’s supporters?
“I saw one video from the supporters. I can’t wait to play in front of them so I hope they give us more power and we can go to the playoffs with the supporters.”
What was your first thought when you learned you would get to play with Kaká?
“It’s like a dream come true. When I was a [kid] in Switzerland I always watched Milan. I saw him play and I loved how he played. He’s a big idol. I’m very excited to play with him.”
