ORLANDO, Fla. (April 19, 2017) - Orlando City B signs midfielder Danny Deakin to a United Soccer League (USL) contract.
“We’re really happy Danny will be joining us full-time,” OCB Head Coach Anthony Pulis said. “Being with us will give him an opportunity to earn more playing time and continue his development.”
Deakin was Orlando City’s third-round pick in the 2017 Major League Soccer (MLS) SuperDraft. Deakin was signed to a MLS contract on March 3 before being loaned to OCB on March 24. The 23-year-old has made one start in three appearances for OCB.
The Sheffield, England, native finished his last two collegiate seasons at the University of South Carolina, where he was a two-time All-Conference USA First Team selection. Deakin then scored one goal and two assists in nine games with Detroit City FC in the National Premier Soccer League.
