MATTHEWS, N.C. (March 26, 2025) – Orlando City B (2-0-1, 7 points) took on Crown Legacy FC (0-1-1, 1 point) at Mecklenburg County Sportsplex on Wednesday night. The Lions took the match via a 1-0 scoreline to earn their first road victory and clean sheet of the season and improve to 2-0-1 while remaining unbeaten through the first three games of the 2025 campaign.
The Lions were backed by a first half goal from Orlando City midfielder Shak Mohammed. Mohammed has now scored in back-to-back games and currently sits at two goals on the season and 19 all-time across all competitions for OCB.
Orlando City B’s backline was busy on Wednesday night, blocking numerous shots in the box and denying scoring chances throughout the match. Despite racking up 16 shots, Crown Legacy FC was unable to find the back of the net thanks to the defending of OCB and the play of goalkeeper Carlos Mercado, who made an important penalty save in the 59th minute to keep the clean sheet intact.
The Lions continue their two-game road trip as they travel to the Volunteer State next for a showdown with Chattanooga FC on Saturday April 5, on MLSNEXTPro.com. The sides will face off at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga, Tennessee at 7 p.m. ET.
